This board game for solo play has been a popular favourite since the 1600's.  The game starts with all the balls in place except the central one.  The aim of the game is to end with just one ball left in the centre position.  To pla,y any ball can jump over one of it's adjacent balls either horizontally or vertically (but not diagonally) and remove the ball that has been leapt.  It is simple enough for quite young children to grasp (we suggest 6+), however it requires great skill or temendous luck to end with just one ball in the centre!

Our version is of solid wood construction with a grooved rim that contains the wooden balls during play.  This design means it is very easy to replace the balls in their pots at the end of the game.  It makes a lovely table piece good enough to keep out at all times.  Our's lives on our dining room table which makes it perfect for filling in a few moments whilst waiting for the children to finish their dinner!
